Skilled Nursing

Skilled nursing services are provided by or under the supervision of a registered nurse and only in accordance with client plans of care as ordered by their doctor. A RN opens each case with a thorough assessment and evaluation of the client and their health care needs. There is a safety evaluation, medication review, a check of their homebound status and an evaluation of their ability to perform the activities of daily living. The client's support structure is important and can include family, friends, neighbors, church affiliations, volunteer availability, community payor sources and their own personal resources.

Our primary skilled nursing activities include:

The benefits are based on findings that certain types of health care provided in the comfort and privacy of your home, near loved ones and your familiar environment over which you have greater control, can speed the healing process. You and your family can learn about your health care needs so goals are met and managed at home. It is a cost effective alternative to hospital or nursing home stays. Home care can provide a team approach with the nurse acting as a case manager with the other therapies.
